E-glass Fiberglass Yarn
 Apr 23, 2024|View:18

In the past months, glass fiber roving, yarn and other products have resumed price increases, the market all the way up, simply can not stop! What is the unique charm of alkali-free glass fiber yarn? Specifically applied to which industry sectors?

As we all know, glass fiber is a superior performance of inorganic non-metallic materials, but also China's focus on encouraging the development of one of the new materials. General glass fiber roving monofilament diameter in the dozen microns to twenty microns between, and alkali glass fiber yarn monofilament diameter can be done between 4-9 microns, more than ten times finer than our hair! It is crystal clear, thin and light but very strong, and its manufacturing difficulty coefficient is extremely high, the technical content is extremely high, known as the glass fiber session of the "noble family", "shining star"!

Alkali-free glass fiber yarns are divided into starch type yarns, silane type yarns, paraffin type yarns, etc. Glass fiber yarns are highly regarded for their excellent electronic insulation properties and wide range of applications. Not only that, it has high tensile strength; excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance and flame retardancy; excellent process performance and less hairiness, which makes it smoother in the weaving process. It is suitable for weaving electronic fabrics, insulating sleeves, high temperature wires, hot wires, fiberglass tapes, strong fiberglass tapes and other fields, which is called the "favorite" of the electronic/industrial world and favored by the majority of users. Below we will introduce electronic yarn and industrial yarn respectively:

Electronic yarn

Electronic yarn (such as: G75 yarn) is mainly used to textile electronic cloth, used for electronic components printed circuit boards. Its common monofilament diameter of 5, 7, 9 microns. With the development of technology, monofilament diameters of 4 and 4.5 microns have also appeared. Finer monofilaments can be made into finer yarns, and finer yarns can be woven into thinner cloth. The same thickness of the cloth, such as the use of monofilament diameter finer warp and weft yarn, the cloth's softness, mechanical properties and durability is better.

Electronic cloth is mainly used in the manufacture of PCB laminate, of which the largest amount is mainly 7628, 2116 and 1080 three. In recent years, the proportion of thin, very thin and ultra-thin electronic cloth usage has shown a straight upward trend, which is both pressure and motivation for fiberglass manufacturers, and the only way to adapt to the market demand is to keep challenging the limits. Electronic cloth is widely used in high-tech electronic products such as smart phones, tablet PCs, laptops, servers, 5G base stations, automobiles, consumer electronics, industrial controls, instruments, medical machinery, aerospace and aviation, IC chip packaging substrates, and so on. With the booming development of 5G technology, cloud computing, data centers, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, smart driving and smart home as the representative industries, it brings brand new development opportunities to PCB industry, and the demand for electronic yarn and electronic cloth will also grow.

Industrial Yarn

Industrial Fine Yarns are common monofilaments with a diameter of 5-9 microns, which are mainly used for industrial fabrics, such as woven insulating sleeves/special wires/insulating tapes/glass tape/high-temperature resistant gloves/fire-resistant doors/fireproof curtains, etc. They are widely used in the construction/aerospace/wind/automotive industries and other industrial fields.
